Membership Opportunities

Membership Form_2014-2015

Dear friends and supporters of B’nai Or Montreal Community Shul,

Devarim hayotzim min halev nichnasim el halev.
Things that come from the heart enter the heart.

As the old year comes to a close, I want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU from all of us who serve this community in order to bring you meaningful Jewish programming from the heart. We hope that many of you have been moved, touched or perhaps even changed by the services and holiday events you attended this past year at B’nai Or.

Fran and I, along with the Steering Committee, continue to work to bring the expansive spirit of Jewish Renewal into a community where Jewish spiritual practice is undertaken joyously, with meaning and depth. You may not know that we all work as volunteers, and that as a synagogue community we have expenses that require financial support to keep us going. We are required to pay for renting the beautiful Kellert Hall space, and we pay for security services. A large part of our fundraising is now done through our annual membership drive in September, before the High Holidays.

And so, we would appreciate it if you would take the time to read the attached Membership Form carefully. You will find there are many options for supporting our community, and we would be extremely grateful for your contribution in one of the membership categories. Please fill out pages 2, 3 and 4, and either bring them to one of our services or events along with your cheque, or mail everything to Rabbi Sherril Gilbert, 5291 Borden Avenue, Montreal, QC H4V 2T2. Remember to make cheques payable to the YM-YWHA, and write “for B’nai Or Synagogue” on the subject line in order to get a tax receipt.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of this growing, caring, vibrant community of the heart!
Wishing you a shana tova umetukah – a good and sweet New Year!

R’ Sherril
on behalf of the Steering Committee of B’nai Or Montreal Community Shul
