1. Scholar-in-Residence Programs!

The first two of our very successful scholars-in-residence programs are now behind us. We were thrilled to welcome Rabbi Goldie Milgram for the Forgiveness Workshop, and Rabbi Daniel Siegel for the Integral Halachah Shabbaton. We want to thank everyone who attended, participated, and helped to plan the events. Thank you to Marilyn and Vera for your offering at last week’s Friday night service. Thank you Deena for arranging for the amazing meal on Saturday night at our second event – it was just perfect and everyone enjoyed it. It was great to see participants from Mile End Chavurah and the Glebe Minyan in Ottawa, and other local congregations at the Shabbaton with Reb Daniel!

2. Next Scholar-in-Residence event: Shabbaton with Reb Simcha Raphael

Join us on Friday, October 31 and Saturday, November 1 when we will welcome Reb Simcha Raphael to Montreal and B’nai Or. Reb Simcha is a former Montrealer, author of Jewish Views of the Afterlife, and will be our guest for the Friday night service and then on Saturday evening. On Friday night, Reb Simcha will be speaking on “Yenne Velt: Lifting the Veil on the Afterlife and the World Beyond”. Saturday evening begins at 6 pm with a vegetarian kosher potluck supper, followed by havdalah and Reb Simcha regaling us with Tales of Ghosts, Spirits, and Reincarnating Souls: Twilight Between the Worlds. For more information, visit our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/121144314668358/ . Donations encouraged!

3. Please note there will not be a service for Simchat Torah this Thursday evening, as previously planned.

Wishing us all a shana tova – a sweet and good New Year!

Many blessings,
R’ Sherril

What I look for is not how to gain a firm hold on myself and on life,

but primarily how to live a life that would deserve and evoke an eternal Amen.
