High Holidays 5776 – RESERVE YOUR PASSES NOW!
We are thrilled to announce an innovative and exciting collaboration for High Holiday services with Dorshei Emet, the Reconstructionist Community of Montreal. Each year, Dorshei Emet holds two alternative High Holiday services in their downstairs social hall. (They still have regular services going on upstairs.) These two services are Renewal-style, with musical instruments, dancing, and chanting. Services will be held on Rosh Hashanah morning and erev Yom Kippur.
How to participate – please read carefully!
There is a suggested donation of $36 for B’nai Orniks. Each B’nai Or supporter is entitled to one High Holiday pass. You must have a pass to get into Dorshei Emet for the High Holiday services. Here are the three options for getting a pass:
1. If you have already paid your 2015-2016 membership and submitted your membership form to Reb Sherril, your High Holiday pass is included in your membership and there is no additional cost. If this is your situation, you have already received an email from me.
2. If you would like to become a supporter of B’nai Or, please fill out the attached membership form, include a cheque, and mail it RIGHT AWAY to Rabbi Sherril Gilbert, 6220 Godfrey Avenue, Montreal H4B 1K2. Your High Holiday pass is included in your membership and there is no additional cost.
3. If you would like to attend High Holiday services but you are not a member of B’nai Or, please prepare a cheque for $36 per person, made out to the YM-YWHA, and write on the subject line “for B’nai Or”. Mail it right away or drop it off c/o Rabbi Sherril Gilbert, 6220 Godfrey Avenue, Montreal H4B 1K2. Include your email address in the envelope if you don’t think I have it, so I can provide you with instructions for picking up your pass.
THE DEADLINE FOR RESERVING PASSES IS SEPTEMBER 1.
EVERYONE: PLEASE EMAIL ME TO LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT TO RESERVE A HIGH HOLIDAY PASS, AND THE QUANTITY, SO WE CAN ENSURE THERE ARE ENOUGH PASSES FOR ALL.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR GETTING YOUR PASS WILL BE EMAILED TO YOU IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS.
