1. Kabbalat Shabbat – Celebrating 4 years!!!!
When: THIS Friday, January 8, 7:30 pm. 
Where: YM-YWHA/JCC, 5400 Westbury Avenue
Come join us for a rousing, inspiring, festive, joyful Shabbat celebration this Friday. And we have LOTS to celebrate! It’s our first Shabbat of the year, it’s B’nai Or’s 4th anniversary, and Reb Sherril became a Bubbe! MAZAL TOV TO US ALL!
On this Shabbat, we will also introduce a special THEME for the coming year, DEEP ECOLOGY, in which we focus our tikkunim (healing), music, learning, prayer and social action on all aspects of our connection to nature, the planet, and all life. Musical Kabbalat Shabbat/Evening service begins promptly at 7:30 pm, and will be followed by a celebratory dessert-y potluck Oneg Shabbat (“Shabbat delight”). Please bring, as you are able, a healthy nosh to share – could be a nutritious dessert or a light snack or a beverage. All are welcome!

3. Spiritual Learning Lab #5
Text: “Jewish with Feeling” by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi and Joel Segel
In this series of experiential, participatory learning labs, we have been exploring Reb Zalman’s most accessible text on Jewish Renewal, called “Jewish with Feeling”. Together we examine a Jewish spiritual path that joyfully reunites heart, mind, soul and body. A few books are still available for participants at the cost price of $20. Next session: Eco-kashrut and loving the environment. All are welcome!
