Shabbat Shira is the annual musical Shabbat celebration recalling the story of leaving Egypt, crossing of the Reed Sea, and arriving safely on the far shore. After the crossing, according to the story, Moses led the men in song, and Miriam led the women in song and dance all night long. This Shabbat will be Shabbat Shira – come participate in a joyful, musical prayer journey as we weave song and dance through the Friday night service. And then you are welcome to stay for our community oneg Shabbat – a kiddush/vegetarian potluck following the service. Please bring, as you are able, a nutritious nosh or beverage to share.
3. Dorshei Emet Reconstructionist Congregation – SPECIAL MUSICAL EVENT!!!!
When: Saturday, January 23, 8:00 pm
Where: 18 Cleve Road, Hampstead
Suggested donation: $20 or what you can pay
Support the community in this cross-cultural musical celebration in support of Syrian Refugee Sponsorship – includes a musical hootenany and traditional Syrian music!
4. Winter/Spring Schedule – note the changes!

Please note that, due to popular request, we are generally returning to our former schedule of Friday night services (first and third Fridays) for the rest of winter and spring. We will not be meeting on Saturday evenings during this time, unless there are special events, in which case you will be notified.

Here are the dates of our Shabbat services:

  • February 5, 19
  • * March 12 * (Satuday morning) Special Shabbat w/ Rabbis Rachel Barenblat & David Markus – details to come!

That’s it for now!
Have a wonderful week!
